IJPS was founded August 2004 as a Junior Athletic Association.  We stay true to our mission to identify, educate, train, and develop Junior Precision Pistol athletes to be major competitors in National Rifle Association “Bullseye” competition.

August 2011, we complete our seventh year and are proud to have 31 NRA Distinguished Expert Handgun recipients and seven Double NRA Distinguished Experts - Handgun and Bullseye.  In September 2009, one of our 16-year old juniors shot her way to becoming the Illinois State Woman’s Outdoor .22 Champion.

Annually, we host two NRA Bullseye Pistol Competition Junior Shooting Camps.  One in early June and one the week after Christmas.  Our guest instructor is always the highlight of the event.  We fire a “2700” NRA Approved .22 Match at each event.

IJPS trains 12 months a year at the new 16-position CIPS range located West of Bloomington, IL, the new 32-position Article II Range • Gun World, Lombard, IL, the 10-position indoor and outdoor ranges at Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club, Streator, IL, and a private 5-position indoor/outdoor range, with turning targets, West of DuPage County designed for junior pistol shooting development.

We welcome new members, ages 9-20, interested in becoming a precision pistol athlete. One-on-one time can always be scheduled with one or more of our Coaches.
